Special attention was given to the issues of mobilization and exemption of athletes.

Managing Partner of "Juris Ferrum" LF, Ganna Gnizdovska, who is also a member of the Sports Law Committee Council, was a keynote speaker at the session titled "Mobilization and Exemption of Athletes: How to Find a Balance".

In her speech, Ganna Gnizdovska outlined the key challenges faced by sports organizations during the exemption process:

  • obtaining the status of a critically important organization for the economy, which is a highly challenging task even for leading sports clubs;
  • limiting the number of reservists that can be exempted (no more than 50%), which often prevents key coaches and athletes from being included;
  • difficulties in exempting coaches who work under civil law contracts, excluding them from the exemption process altogether.

Ms. Gnizdovska highlighted the fact that only 7 football clubs from Ukraine's Premier League have managed to obtain the status of "critically important."

She emphasized the need for simplifying procedures for other sports organizations to allow them to retain their staff during critical periods.

The event served as an important platform for discussing pressing issues, where experts from various fields shared their experiences and developed proposals for improving the mobilization and exemption processes.

Special attention was given to the sports sector, which requires a comprehensive approach to safeguarding its workforce during wartime.
