The first meeting took place on June 1, 2023. This working group is focused on drafting the Concept of the Urban Planning Code, which will serve as the foundation for the systematization and modernization of Ukraine's urban planning legislation.
We are proud to announce that "Juris Ferrum" law firm’s partner, attorney Gnizdovska Nadiia, is actively participating in the work of this group. The group includes members of parliament, representatives of relevant state bodies and organizations, as well as experts from the National Association of Advocates of Ukraine (NAAU).
Together with Oleh Povalyaev, the head of the Construction Law Committee, Gnizdovska Nadiia represents the NAAU in the working subgroup MBC G-4 "Construction Law."
The group has already conducted public discussions and prepared an interim report on its activities.
The next phase involves drafting the text of the Urban Planning Code, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The document will then be presented to the relevant parliamentary committee for further hearings.
This critical stage in the development of the Urban Planning Code is defined by the following key reform areas:
- completion of the decentralization reform;
- minimization of investment risks;
- strengthening public engagement practices;
- implementation of professional liability;
- environmental protection;
- harmonization with EU legislation.
These steps aim to improve the quality of urban environments and align them with modern European standards.
